The Buyer II will develop solutions to complex problems, participate in setting objectives for assignments, and plan, schedule, and arrange activities to achieve these objectives. Work may be reviewed upon completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost and Lead Time Maestro: Skillfully negotiate and establish costs and lead times for a variety of materials, ensuring we get the best deals without compromising on quality.
- MRP Wizard: Dive into Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) data, anticipating needs and reacting swiftly to keep our operations running smoothly.
- Order Conductor: Place, expedite, or cancel purchase orders with precision, ensuring timely delivery of materials both internally and externally.
- Supplier Relationship Guru: Seek out and qualify new suppliers, fostering strong relationships and using metrics to drive continuous improvement in supplier performance.
- Inventory Virtuoso: Share your deep commodity knowledge with internal teams and manage inventory levels to perfection.
- ECO Strategist: Review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and adapt plans and programs to align with new requirements.
- Utilize modern procurement software and tools to streamline purchasing processes.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure competitive advantage.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support product development and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Educational Background: A BS Degree or equivalent that has equipped you with the foundational knowledge to excel in this role.
- Experience: Two to five years of hands-on experience in procurement or a related field, where you've honed your skills and demonstrated your ability to manage complex purchasing tasks.
- Analytical Prowess: A sharp mind that can analyze MRP data and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Communication Excellence: The ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
- Organizational Mastery: Exceptional organizational skills that allow you to plan, schedule, and execute activities seamlessly.
- Technical Savvy: A solid understanding of purchasing principles, materials requirements planning, and master scheduling.
Additional Information:
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Just-In-Time (JIT) principles is a plus.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is preferred but not required.
- Experience with international suppliers and global sourcing is advantageous.
