We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, driven, Director to join our Analytics Team. Top candidates have a history of remarkable success; using analytics to inform projects, building strategic partnerships, supporting growth through business development and providing consulting services to our clients. 

The Director of Analytics participates in the business development and sales efforts to achieve company objectives.  Annual sales and business development goals are a major portion of the Director’s role within the company.  In addition, the Director will develop teams that work collaboratively and effectively to provide the highest quality product to clients.  This person plans, manages, and controls the activities of teams of analysts that provide advanced analytical solutions for our clients.  Is a solid training and demonstrated expertise in quantitative fields, such, finance, statistics, economics, operations research and business analytics. In addition, candidates for this position need to possess the ability to solve analytical problems, use statistical packages to analyze large amounts of data, think creatively and work effectively with teams of professionals engaged in tackling real-world business problems.

Candidates should have expertise in applied econometrics, plus specializations in two or more of these areas: statistics, labor economics, financial economics, economics of risk and risk management. This position requires excellent analytic, technical writing, and presentation skills. Candidates should have multiple research publications, including professional and peer-reviewed journals and multiple articles or presentations describing technical analyses to general audiences.

The Director of Analytics must have the knowledge and skill to provide supportable opinions that may help a jury, judge, or mediator make sense of the factual evidence of a case. This position requires working with clients to provide expert witness services and consulting for litigation and disputes and providing testimony in court if needed.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the VP of Analytics, directs the design, research, development, and delivery of statistical products, projects, and enhancements to address business needs.
  • Supports in the development of project requirements, analytic plans, project timelines, and related materials for the management of deliverables.
  • Serves as project team lead and client point of contact, as needed.
  • Provides guidance on advanced statistical methodologies to team members.
  • Explores and capitalizes on opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell existing clients.
  • Supports the sales process by assessing prospective clients’ needs and crafting and presenting proposals that meet those needs.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Economics or Statistics.
  • Strong programming skills using various statistical packages such as SAS, Stata, R, etc.
  • Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience in Finance, Economics, and/or Statistics
  • Minimum of 5 years in litigation as a consulting expert and/or testifying expert. 
  • Minimum of 3 years working with selling and business development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of various statistical methodologies such as regression analysis (linear and non-linear), cluster analysis, tabulation and hypothesis testing, survival models, sampling and testing procedures
  • Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing
  • multiple projects and resources concurrently

  • Employee is a contributing and dependable member of project teams.
  • Employee diligently and accurately records project time billed to clients.
  • Employee completes supervisory duties in a timely manner.
