Job Description:
Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to support the RSES (Research, Science, and Engineering Services) contract located at the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). The candidate will be supporting the newly created Space Weather Program Office within the NASA LaRC’s Science Directorate. The candidate will be responsible for the formulation, planning, and operations of the Space Weather Program throughout the program lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience with program management processes and procedures, and will support Space Weather Program management of multiple projects and program activities. This is a leadership role where the candidate will directly support the program office through the management of program documents, methodology, communications, and standards.
The salary range for this position is $52,000 to $72,000 based experience and education.
Job Description
Collaboratively support the Space Weather Program Office throughout the entire program lifecycle.
Develop, maintain, and manage the Space Weather Program Plan and program management documents.
Standardize program-related governance processes and facilitate the sharing of resources, methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Develop and manage program management methodology, good practices, quality assurance activities, and standards.
Provide support for reporting to leadership and program steering committees.
Support program communications and program-level change management activities.
Support the management of the program scope, schedule, and budget.
Provide mentoring and training to ensure that standards and practices are understood.
Conduct program performance analyses and monitor the delivery of expected benefits, results, or outcomes.
Provide centralized support for managing changes and tracking risks, issues, and decisions.
Provide support to the program office in management areas including program integration management, change management, communications management, financial management, information management, procurement management, quality management, resource management, risk management, schedule management, and scope management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field of study.
- 0-4 years’ experience.
- Familiarity in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with some hands-on experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with coordinating with stakeholders within and outside the organization.
- Ability to support multiple objectives, track own work and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Confident and comfortable interacting with senior executives and high-level stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with GIS tools such as Esri products, including ArcGIS Pro (ArcPRO), ArcMap, and related geospatial platforms.
Academic or professional experience working with space weather phenomena.
Previous work experience with NASA, contributing to projects that required technical expertise, collaboration across interdisciplinary teams, and adherence to high scientific standards.
Excellent communication skills.
Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team.
The selected applicant will be subject to a security investigation and employment is based on the ability to attain Minimum Background Investigation clearance and physical and logical access to NASA LaRC.
