Position Summary
Client is currently seeking an Estimator for projects in the northeast Texas area. This position is based out of our Longview, TX office.
The Role
This is a skilled estimator role, pivotal to the short and long-term success of the firm, and requires a candidate with integrity, experience, and professionalism. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following :
- Responsible for bids and proposals of all types. This will range from negotiated work, to CMAR, to design-build, to traditional design-bid-build procurement methods.
- IMPORTANT : The focus of this role will be traditional design-bid-build procurement, i.e. "Hard bidding" against competing general contractors.
- Involvement in all sizes of projects will be necessary, from $1,000 to $100,000,000.
- Lead the effort of our pre-construction services.
- Identify high-risk bid document / scope provisions and implement strategies to mitigate risk during pre-construction.
- Lead pricing, value engineering, site selection investigations, and building assessments.
- Set up projects for success by establishing cost, schedule, and safety expectations during pre-construction.
- Establish a strong rapport with the bidding subcontractor and supplier marketplace, building upon clients existing relationships with trade partners.
- Work with our Project Managers to facilitate the successful completion of projects.
- Conform to applicable company policies and procedures and uphold ethical standards.
- Report directly to and work closely with firm Owner & President.
