About Us:T he Anchor In is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Cape Cod, known for its exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere. We are seeking a dependable, self-sufficient Maintenance Technician to ensure our property is well-maintained, safe, and comfortable for our guests and staff. This position offers temporary living on-site accommodations and being responsible for certain overnight duties.
Responsibilities:
Daily Operations:
- Check in with the front desk team regularly to review and prioritize maintenance orders.
- Assist housekeepers with tasks such as laundry pick-ups and moving supplies.
- Conduct routine trash pick-ups throughout the property, including interior common areas and exterior grounds.
- Ensure the cleanliness and functionality of shared spaces, such as the lobby, lounges, and outdoor areas.
Property Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform general repairs, including plumbing, painting, spackling, and carpentry.
- Address and resolve zoneline (PTAC) repairs or replacements to maintain guest comfort.
- Troubleshoot and fix minor electrical and HVAC issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and proactively address them.
Overnight On-Call Duties (5 Days a Week):
- Manage phone transfers overnight, addressing guest inquiries and assisting with needs after office hours.
- Respond to property issues or emergencies promptly and professionally.
- Help guests with requests, including remaking guest keys or resolving minor issues on the property.
Preventative Maintenance & Organization:
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure systems and equipment operate efficiently.
- Organize and maintain the maintenance room to keep tools, equipment, and supplies accessible and in good condition.
- Assist with seasonal preparations, upgrades, or renovation projects.
Independence & Collaboration:
- Work independently to identify and resolve maintenance issues, demonstrating self-sufficiency and initiative.
- Collaborate effectively with housekeeping and front desk teams to address maintenance-related concerns promptly.
- Maintain a courteous and professional attitude when assisting guests with maintenance needs.
Schedule:
- Schedule may fluctuate to include shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on-call overnight responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, spackling, and carpentry.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and zoneline units is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders for extended periods.
