Heavy Highway Superintendent
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Heavy Highway Superintendent to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction management, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
Duties
- Oversee daily operations on the construction site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and forecasting costs.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Review schematics and construction plans to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the construction team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Prepare progress reports for management, highlighting milestones achieved and any challenges encountered.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess experience in construction supervisory/management in heavy highway and civil projects. Must have excellent communication skills and proactive safety attitude.
Responsible for daily activities, reports and tracking materials. Encourages job site safety at all times. Organize job sites and equipment.
Coordinates, plans and supervise field staff, subcontractors and craft activities for the assigned project.
· Maintains liaison with other departments and DOT representatives to insure all required materials, equipment and inspections support the project schedule.
· Coordinates plans and specifications with the Project Manager, clarifying discrepancies. Optimizes operations and procedures.
· Eight plus years in Civil/Heavy Highway Industry.
· High School Diploma/GED
· Must possess a current valid driver’s licenses.
· Successful completion of pre-employment MVR, background and drug screen required
