The Quality Manager is responsible for supervision of the quality process to ensure that all products meet or exceed industry standards. Ensures robust quality process throughout the organization. The Quality Manager will continually strive for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Leadership on Anchor’s Quality Philosophy to the Quality Department and throughout the entire organization.
- Responsible for assuring the Quality System complies with IATF16949 through the direction of Internal and Supplier Audits. Also responsible for compliance with requirements of ISO14001.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of quality standards, control plans and inspection methods and procedures. Utilize PFMEA and Control Plans to identify and mitigate risks throughout the various value streams.
- Immediate reaction to customer rejections & concerns. Interface with customers to promptly resolve quality issues during production.
- Facilitate problem solving in a manufacturing environment including continual process improvement activities. Collaborate with various functional areas on quality issues, gage development and measurement techniques.
- Create a quality organization that allows proper focus on the development of people.
- Initiate the use of SPC and the analyzing of data for trends and process capabilities where practical.
- Oversee and coordinate the duties and efforts of those in the Metrology Lab who are responsible for supporting PPAP submissions, product measurements, gage capability, annual layouts, gage R&R, gage calibration, part layout, etc.
- Facilitate the APQP Process and direct the PPAP documentation preparation process.
Requirements
- Four year technical degree in industrial, mechanical or quality engineering and two to three years experience in automotive industry manufacturing environment, or three to five years quality engineering experience in automotive, stamping or machining industry
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing (GD&T) and able to read and understand technical drawings.
- Good oral and written communicator, previous experience resolving customer issues
- Working knowledge of Gage R&R and Measurement Systems Analysis techniques. Must be familiar with inspection gage/tool design and certification techniques
- Must be familiar with automotive PPAP, APQP, SPC, PFMEA requirements.
