What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culturally-Specific Peer Support Specialist/Community Health Worker position at Anchor Within Counseling?
We are seeking relational, creative, dedicated, professionals work collaboratively with Anchor Within Counseling. We are a multi-cultural focused practice which prioritizes connecting racial and ethnic minorities to culturally-competent providers. We are eager to add new skills to the space with an additional PSS or CHW. Peer Support Specialists (PSS) & Community Health Workers (CHWs) are outpatient providers that support the mental health of clients by providing services within the scope of practice of their certification from Oregon Health Authority. PSS provide skills building, psychoeducation, and case management to individuals, families, and / or youth. CHW provide health education, case management, and outreach to improve access to healthcare and enhance the cultural competence of service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide services, within a set scope of practice, to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Develop and maintain positive, supportive relationships with clients.
- Assist clients in identifying and working towards their personal, family, health, and / or recovery goals.
- Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the community and healthcare systems.
- Offer culturally sensitive resources and referrals to clients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support for clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in peer support and cultural competency.

Salary : $43,680 - $66,560
