About the Team
The Accounting Team at Alaska Behavioral Health ensures smooth financial operations to support our staff and clients. The Accounting Specialist II works under the general supervision of the Controller and is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate credit card transactions, and other accounting duties.
What You’ll Do
Accounts Payable / Checks & ACH Payments
- Set up new vendors, ensuring proper documentation and verification of vendor credibility.
- Process purchase invoices (PI), coding transactions accurately and generating reports.
- Manage recurring monthly bills and debit ACH transactions in the accounting system.
- Enter and process invoices into the accounting system and assist in weekly accounts payable reporting.
- Process ACH & check payments weekly or as needed.
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly, researching and following up with vendors as necessary.
- Prepare the annual 1099 reporting.
Accounts Payable / Corporate Credit Card
- Export transactions from the Credit Card Website with receipts for upload into accounting software.
- Enter transactions into Excel spreadsheets for review and import.
- Upload corporate credit card transactions, ensuring proper receipt documentation.
- Assist employees with corporate credit card inquiries.
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare monthly tenant/rental invoices and input them into the accounting system.

- Full-Time, Non-Exempt
- Pay Range is $21.00 to $32.08, depending on experience
- In addition to base salary there are opportunities to earn up to 5% salary in annual incentives each year based on achievement of individual and organizational goals
- This position is eligible for annual incentive opportunities up to 10% of your salary

What We Need from You
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
- Experience in nonprofit fund/cost accounting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and Excel proficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and external customers.
