Required Education/Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of payroll management experience required.
- 3 to 5 years' experience managing benefits required.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with payroll software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and compensation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.

Qualifications
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Payroll & Benefits Administration: Oversee all aspects of payroll processing and benefits administration for our 500 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation.
- Ensure Compliance: Stay ahead of federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws, managing audits and annual reporting like W-2s and ACA.
- Guide Your Team: Lead a dedicated team of 4 HR Administrators and 1 Benefits Coordinator, ensuring their work is timely and accurate. Provide training, support, and performance evaluations.
- Innovate Policies: Develop and implement forward-thinking HR policies and procedures. Recommend improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and employee satisfaction.
- Resolve Employee Issues: Be the go-to person for employee queries, conflict resolution, and coaching. Maintain a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Manage 401(k) & More: Oversee 401(k) administration and participate in professional development opportunities to keep your skills sharp.
What You Bring:
- Expertise in Payroll & Benefits: Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state labor laws, full-cycle payroll processing, and payroll tax management.
- HRIS & Tech Savvy: Proficiency in HRIS systems (experience with Paycom is a plus) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Automotive Industry Experience: Preferred experience in processing payroll in an automotive dealership and understanding commission, bonus, and flag time calculations.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Problem-Solving Prowess: Ability to gather, analyze, and resolve issues with a keen eye for detail and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED required. Advanced certification (CPP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of HR payroll/benefits management experience, preferably in the auto dealership industry.
Work Environment:
- Full-Time Position: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, with flexibility based on departmental needs.
- Travel: Occasional travel between dealerships may be required.
