Job Summary: Responsible for performing quality cardiology diagnostic testing under the direction of a physician. May engage in all departmental activities to provide safe and effective delivery of patient diagnostic testing within the parameters guided by the American Society of Echocardiography and American College of Cardiology. Department activities include but are not limited to echocardiography; stress testing; holter monitors; electrocardiography (EKG); peripheral intravenous line insertion; preparation of and administration of imaging enhancing agents; scheduling patients; limited transcribing/typing, faxing, charting and filing reports.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Performing 2-D, Mode and Doppler echocardiography, assist with Transesophageal Echocardiograms
2. Stress testing including stress echo and Dobutamine echo.
3. Holter application and scanning.
4. Performing electrocardiograms (EKG’s).
5. Filing, typing, order entry, charging and documentation, scheduling, faxing and charting.
6. Preparing reports for physician review. Assist with departmental Objectives and PI measurements .
7. Peripheral intravenous line insertion.
8. Preparation of and administration of image enhancing agents.
Qualifications
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level: High school graduate or equivalent required.
Certification/Licensure: RDCS Preferred
Experience Requirements: : Experience in Cardiology and 1 - 3 years experience as an Echocardiography Sonographer required .Current enrollment in or graduate of a
Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) preferred
Adult/Pediatric CPR certification required (Available upon employment).
Typing skills and general computer knowledge required.
Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) preferred.
Working Conditions:
Extensive standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting of medium to heavy weights. Exposure to certain cleaning agents.
