- Seeking a full-time ambitious, qualified Accounts Payable clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate should be well organized, and detail oriented. They should possess a strong work ethic, be reliable and a Team Player. Candidate also needs to be diligent, follow-up, have problem solving abilities, and take initiative. MUST be computer literate and preferably with a working knowledge of Quick Books, SAGE 100 Contractor and MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel).
Responsibilities and Duties
- SAGE accounting, data entry and account reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner. Attach any backup to invoices; review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Ensure appropriate coding of GL account, department, job and cost codes are applied to all AP entries.
- Manage company credit cards and enter purchases into SAGE in a timely manner.
- Initiate calls and/or emails to monitor vendor accounts. Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
- Research, track, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Organize and file paper and electronic documents based on instructions from Supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
- MUST have a strong background in accounting. A minimum of 1 year of VERIFIABLE accounting experience required.
- MUST have the ability to handle fiscal information with sensitivity and integrity.
- MUST be proficient in Excel and be at intermediate level user in Quick Books and/or SAGE 100 Contractor.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team; highly organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
- MUST be dependable, punctual and possess a professional attitude.
- Must have a clean criminal record. Background check will be performed.
