Do you thrive in variable weather conditions and want to make a positive impact while working outdoors? Come work for Andes and earn a competitive wage and benefits package!
About us
Andes empowers biology to enable positive action against climate change. We are an integrated, multi-disciplinary group of nature-loving and hard-working people. The team you will be a part of is harnessing the power of bacteria to sequester carbon from the atmosphere, all while providing financial benefits to the local farmers who choose to use our products.
Job description:
You will play a key role in collecting and organizing soil samples from the fields, and will be the boots on the ground that help measure carbon sequestration to combat climate change. The work is physically demanding: you will use hand held drills and augers to collect soil samples independently in all weather conditions. In between these key sampling times, you will work remotely to help prepare for the next sampling season.

While some administrative tasks can be managed from your home base, the majority of the role will involve substantial fieldwork. Depending on your proximity to our acres, travel may be required up to 70% of the time during the sampling seasons.
You will be required to sample at least five days a week (weather permitting) during the sampling seasons. If you are not located within a reasonable daily commuting distance to our fields, travel will average 4-5 days per week. All mileage, hotel accommodations, and a daily food stipend will be reimbursed or provided.

- Have fieldwork experience in any of the following: Agriculture/Agronomy, Soil Science, Natural Resources, etc.
- Have active outdoor hobbies
- Are willing to travel around your key sampling area using your personal vehicle
Requirements:

- Experience in agriculture and/or working outdoors
- Experience following detailed standard operating procedures
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player
- Willingness to learn to operate ATV/UTVs (previous experience desired but not required)
