What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler (Shipping) - 2nd shift position at Andis?
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES ; other duties may be assigned.
- Upholds Andis Core Values in all work-related activities.
- Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ensure materials or containers to be moved. Open containers.
- Safely loads and unloads by hand or with industrial truck or electric hoist, materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment.
- Safely loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
- Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled.
- Attaches identifying tags of labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Process packages through computer manifest system as required.
- Obtain printed barcoded labels and apply to master cartons.
- Utilize handheld computer devices to perform inventory transactions.
- Follow proper procedure regarding receiving goods and MSDS.
- Occasionally operates company vehicle to complete out of plant duties (i.e., mail runs) for authorized drivers only.
