Job Summary
We’re seeking a motivated and versatile Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in multiple accounting functions, with a primary focus on Collections and cross-training in Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P). The selected candidate will receive mentorship and leadership training, preparing for a transition into an Accounting Team Lead role.
Key Responsibilities
- Collections Management – Own the collections process by proactively managing customer accounts, following up on outstanding invoices, and mitigating overdue balances.
- Cross-Training in A/R & A/P – Gain hands-on experience in invoicing, payment processing, vendor communication, and account reconciliation to develop a well-rounded accounting skill set.
- Process Improvement – Identify and implement process optimizations to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Leadership Development – Take on increasing responsibilities, mentor team members, and contribute to departmental initiatives.
- Career Progression – Work closely with the VP of Business Operations and Finance to gain exposure to higher-level tasks, preparing for a future supervisory role.
- Comprehensive training across multiple accounting functions.
- Professional development and mentorship to prepare for leadership opportunities.
- A dynamic work environment where your contributions drive process improvements and business success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, including B2B Collections, A/R, and A/P (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous learning.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- 1-2 years of leadership experience (preferred).
- Experience with Prophet 21 (a plus).
