What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Grounds Worker(s) position at Andover Public Schools?
- Have relevant grounds experience in a comparable work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Be able to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Have a valid State of Kansas Driver’s License.
- Possesses a work ethic that is strongly oriented toward both efficiency and customer service.
- Meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by Supervisor.
- Ability to work unsupervised or within a team. Demonstrate ability to meet quality and quantity standards and on time requirements.
- Meet District grooming and interpersonal standards.
- Meet all District safety requirements.
- Be able to work 40-hour workweek; for the duration of this temporary assignment.
- Be available to work May through August, start and end dates determined by applicant availability
- Mow and trim assigned areas, which includes weeding, edging, and blowing off leaves and grass.
- Ensure mowers and grounds equipment are maintained, prior, during, and after use.
- Apply Lawn Chemicals as required.
- Assist in moving, hauling and rearranging furniture as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Manage job requirements with physical mobility to move from place to place (walking, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, turning, reaching, climbing, balancing, lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis), and use large, heavy equipment.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
- Must work outdoors year-round in a variety of temperatures/conditions including extreme heat.
