What are the responsibilities and job description for the GTN Design Manager position at Andrew Wommack Ministries Inc?
Position Purpose:
The Design Manager serves as the bridge between the Director and the creative teams, overseeing the artistic elements of stage and film productions. This role ensures the Director’s vision is fully realized through cohesive designs across costumes, sets, props, and hair/makeup/wigs. The Design Manager guides creative teams, coordinates efforts, supervises project management, and upholds high standards of artistry, quality, and consistency across all visual aspects of the production.
Essential Duties:
- Collaborate closely with the Director and their teams to fully understand and translate the creative vision into clear, actionable plans, ensuring decision-making is both distributed and aligned with the vision.
- Oversee and approve visual elements throughout the production process, guiding design choices to meet both creative intent and practical production requirements.
- Oversee the creation, implementation, maintenance, and revision of project management systems, ensuring all design elements are developed, utilized, and maintained with quality and delivered on time.
- Lead and oversee the Costuming, Sets, Props, and H/M/W teams, providing direction, fostering collaboration, and ensuring all design departments work seamlessly toward the shared vision.
- Establish clear expectations, deliverables, and deadlines while regularly reviewing progress with team leads to provide feedback, maintain consistency, and ensure high-quality execution.
- Oversee and make key design-related decisions throughout pre-production, production, and post-production, ensuring smooth integration and timely adjustments as needed.
- Work closely with stage managers, technical teams, and production management during rehearsals and filming to monitor and refine design implementation within the overall workflow.
- Manage budgets across all design departments, ensuring artistic integrity, production standards, and cost-efficiency are maintained.
- Support team leads in sourcing materials and resources while monitoring usage to maximize quality, efficiency, and minimize waste.
- Stay current on industry trends, materials, and tools to enhance the creative and practical aspects of production design.
- Mentor and support design team leads, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of stage and film productions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional ability to capture, interpret, and communicate a creative vision clearly and effectively to diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of production design processes for costumes, sets, props, and H/M/W across stage and film.
- Proven leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to guide teams and resolve challenges in real-time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration abilities to align creative teams with the production’s vision and goals.
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-paced, dynamic production environments.
- Must be able to effectively operate a Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite.
Requirements:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must sign the Statement of Faith.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by production schedules.
- Knowledge of Andrew Wommack Ministries' mission and values, with a dedication to supporting its vision through production work.
- High school diploma or equivalent education is required; additional education or experience in set design, construction, or a related field is preferred.
- Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
- Must pass all required checks.
Experience:
- Experience leading or managing design teams in stage or film production environments is required.
- Demonstrated ability to translate creative visions into actionable design plans for costumes, sets, props, or H/M/W.
- Proven track record of making design-related decisions throughout the production process.
- Familiarity with managing production timelines, budgets, and resources for design departments.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
