What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forensic Transition Clinician position at Andrews Center?
Bachelor's degree in psychology, criminal justice or Human Services field from an accredited college/university. Must be eligible to be certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Prefer previous mental health work experience with adult consumers with an emphasis on assessment and referral coordination. Familiarity with the criminal justice system is a plus.
The Forensic Transition Clinician will work with individuals releasing from local county jails with mental health issues. Will assist individuals with setting up community services to ensure smooth transition from incarceratin to community living. Will provide support and advocacy at intial community appointments and serve as a liasion for individual within judicial system, LMHA, and local community resources. The Forensic Transition Clinician will oversee implementation of a Coordinated Release Plan created by Jail Navigators to reduce further contact with the criminal justice system.
