What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jail Based QMHP (JBCR) position at Andrews Center?
Must have bachelors degree in human service field. Two years of post degree experience in mental health services required and/or criminal justice experience preferred.
The individual will complete client screenings with inmates in the Smith County Jail who have been deemed Incompetent to Stand Trial to recommend level of care and refer to JBCR program. This person will complete psychosocial assessments, uniform assessments, individualized recovery plans, and other intake documentation and assessments as required by contract and agency for individuals court ordered to JBCR program. The individual will also provide case management, psychosocial rehab/skills training, competency restoration (legal skills training), and court advocacy for individuals in the Smith County jail who are in the JBCR program in compliance with HHSC contract. Ability to work with persons with disabilities, to assess consumer needs, to establish service plans, to make productive referrals, to advocate for consumers, and to work independently and effectively is necessary.
