Position: Director of Engineering
Reports To: Director of Engineering, Easton Porter Group
Role: This is a full-time, exempt position at Zero George Hotel and Restaurant, one of Charleston's premier luxury boutique hotels.
Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Director of Engineering to lead our maintenance team and ensure that Zero George Hotel and Restaurant continues to operate at the highest level. This role is crucial in maintaining the beauty, comfort, and efficiency of the property. Essential Functions:
- Lead the maintenance team with strong communication, both verbal and written, while demonstrating exceptional leadership.
- Oversee and execute preventative maintenance programs to keep all systems, appliances, and equipment in top condition.
- Delegate responsibilities, manage complex projects, and set clear priorities aligned with the property’s standards of excellence.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude with guests, staff, and vendors, ensuring everyone feels valued.
- Collaborate with team members, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, HVAC maintenance, and equipment repair.
- Experience with cloud-based preventative maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of workplace safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain focus in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
General Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, 8 to 12 hours.
- Ability to perform repetitive range of motion activities.
