What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technician position at ANDRO Computational Solutions, LLC?
ANDRO is looking for a qualified IT Technician that will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality and security. You will also provide initial user system training to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure.
Thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems is a must. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
This is open to professionals with previous IT experience. Previous programming, DevSecOps, and DoD CMMC experience are preferred. This is a full-time on-site position located in Rome, NY. US Citizenship is required. The ability to obtain and hold a DoD security clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
- Assist in maintaining and updating company asset database
Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Specialist or equivalent position
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with users
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
Preferred
- IT Professional certifications (e.g. CompTIA Linux , CompTIA Security , CompTIA Network , Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- Experience in the following technologies
o VirtualBox or VMWare Workstation
o Samba
o XenServer / XCP-ng
o SNIPE-IT Inventory Software
o Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) / Rocky Linux
o Debian/Ubuntu
o BASH Shell Scripting
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53 and/or NIST 800-171
- Knowledge of CMMC 2.0 Compliance
- Previous DevSecOps experience preferred
- C and Python programming experience preferred

Pay: $61,151.00 - $66,981.00 per year
