Androscoggin Bank, a values driven, mutual savings bank based in Lewiston, Maine, has an opening for a Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager to join our team.

In keeping with our client first purpose, our ideal candidate will understand the needs of our client and community goals and have experience as a Commercial Portfolio Manager within the Bank’s market area.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Works closely with commercial lenders to provide support, servicing and analysis of the existing loan portfolio. This includes assisting with resolution of internal and external issues, loan structuring and credit underwriting, review of loan documentation, and assessing risk.
- Supports new loan origination by obtaining financial and other documents to determine the general creditworthiness of the applicant and the merits of the specific loan request. Works with commercial lenders to create appropriate loan structure, assess creditworthiness, and present recommendations as needed. Assists with credit analysis duties when necessary or practical.
- Serves as a secondary point of contact in communication and resolves issues for existing customers. May initiate customer contact for line renewals and collection of financial reporting.
- Acts as the primary liaison with Credit during the underwriting process by providing supporting information about the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method, and collateral requirements. Also, collects and analyzes information that reflects the current creditworthiness of customers or prospects. May obtain information through direct inspection of the applicant’s business and/or collateral, review of interim financial reports, personal interview, and other means.
- Coordinates loan closings in conjunction with Loan Processing and attorneys, ensuring compliance with loan approval. Prepares commitment letters, reviews all relevant documentation, ensures pre-closing conditions are met, and directs finalization of loan related documents.
- Assists the commercial lending staff with risk rating evaluations, annual reviews, credit memos, site visits, call reports, loan covenant testing, insurance and document deficiency resolutions.
- Promotes the Androscoggin Bank Brand by following proper protocol, recommending products and services, supporting our community focus & commitment to being a premier employer.
- Investigates and assists commercial lenders in the collection of past due accounts and overdrafts.
- Effectively uses analytical skills to solve technical, as well as, non-technical problems.
- Participates in community affairs to increase the bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
- Complies with all banking related laws and regulations communicated to the employee through training and/or written correspondence and those requirements reflected in the Bank's policies and procedures applicable to the employee's duties and/or areas of responsibility. Protects all customer information and institution assets and complies with privacy and acceptable use policies.
- Undertakes other duties and special projects relating to departmental services as assigned by the Director of Commercial Credit & Client Support or Chief Lending Officer.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 1 years of bank lending portfolio officer or lending related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial underwriting and credit analysis,
- Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively structure loans
- Proven knowledge of commercial documentation
- Represents bank in professional manner
- Some ability to cross-sell other bank products and services
- Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule to meet customer needs
- Demonstrated ability to work with high degree of accuracy and detail
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to change.
