Job Overview of Associate Vice President Business Operations
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Business Operations for the Sanctuary Institute (SI) is responsible for all business aspects of the Sanctuary Institute, including oversight of the annual budget, spending, contracts and service delivery. In addition, the AVP of Business Operations provides development and support to the administrative staff and Director of Education and Training of The Sanctuary Institute.
Essential Duties of Associate Vice President Business Operations
Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversees daily operations of Sanctuary Institute.
- Works collaboratively with the Director of Education and Training, as well as faculty and administrative staff. Provides oversight to staff to streamline administrative systems and business processes.
- Create and implement new operational policies and procedures as necessary.
- Provides contract management via use of assigned software; ensures oversight and training of all assigned users.
- Evaluates program performance and creates immediate and long-term operational goals for the Institute.
- Analyzes services by contract to ensure an optimized revenue stream and reports service delivery against projections monthly.
- Creates and manage operational budgets to promote profitability; works closely with the Finance department and Executive Leadership.
- Creates, analyzes and distributes data analytics monthly.
- Contributes to overall success of Institute by ensuring deadlines are met and creating accountability targets amongst the team.
- Assists Finance department with collection of all outstanding payments to ensure timely collection of revenue.
- Manage all contracting with customers in a timely manner.
- Oversee customer support processes, including managing inquiries and sales leads of all potential and existing customers, providing information and consultation as needed to generate business, and fielding any questions or concerns of existing customers to maintain relationships.
- Research, develop and execute new growth opportunities for the Institute.
- Collaborates with Director of Education and Training of Sanctuary Institute to market trainings, plan conferences, presentations, symposia and other Sanctuary events.
- Oversees overall communications strategy, including marketing and social media efforts.
- Develops business relationships with vendors, customers, staff and others as needed to elevate and maintain business operations
- Supports overall strategic plan of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP & CAO.
Essential Qualifications of Associate Vice President Business Operations
Key qualifications include:
- Master’s degree with five years’ management experience or comparable work experience in business or finance.
- Exemplary technology skills with ability to assist organization in digital transformation efforts.
- Strong supervisory and organizational skills.
- Time management and ability to meet and exceed deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding and previous experience with Sanctuary Model is a plus.

Physical/Travel Requirements
An employee in this class must be able to sit, stand, walk, see, climb stairs, and carry up to 30 lbs. The employee must be able to meet these requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
This role will travel approximately 25% of the time which may include overnight and international travel as needed. Employee will work hybrid, both on-site at the Sanctuary Institute in Yonkers, NY and remote. Employee must work independently and schedule time as appropriate to fulfill duties within the work week.
