Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the movement of trucks and drivers to ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers.
- Monitor driver performance and communicate with drivers to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate with customers to address any issues or concerns and ensure timely resolution of customer complaints.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs, equipment usage, and delivery schedules.
- Work closely with other members of the transportation team, including drivers, logistics coordinators, and maintenance personnel to ensure efficient operations.
- Respond quickly to changing customer needs and adjust dispatch plans as needed to meet those needs.
- Monitor and manage equipment availability, ensuring that all trucks and trailers are in good condition and available for use as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in transportation or logistics operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with dispatching software and other related tools.

- Computer literate: You will need to feel comfortable working on a computer and can use multiple websites, send emails, and use the computer software that is designed for transportation with accuracy at a reasonable pace. You will be tracking freight as well as responding to drivers and customers.
- Good with people. Success in this job is all about relationships - with drivers, customer contacts, including schedulers, dock and logistics personnel, and other team members. If you like getting to know, communicating, and working with people, this position is a great deal of fun
- Self-Motivated. You will generally work with only one other peer on the shift. Once the training is complete, you will be expected to hold yourself accountable for timely response and good decisions.
- Transportation Industry experience is helpful but not necessary.
