Job Details
The Patient Care Specialist is part of the Prescription Acquisition Center within ExactCare Pharmacy. The Specialist will be responsible for communication between the pharmacy and the doctor's office. The members of this team will work to request new prescriptions and refills from the providers to maintain patient profiles. This team speaks with doctor's offices on a national basis.
Responsibilities
- Managing queues of prescriptions that require refills
- Faxing refill requests to providers offices
- Calling prescriber offices and following up on outstanding refills to ensure patient profiles are complete
- Calling and alerting patients of missing refills
- Calling and alerting patients of appointments needed to get refills
- Maintaining accurate prescriber contact information
- Maintaining up to date patient demographic information
- Other duties as assigned.
