Job description
Angel Wings Learning Center is the best faith-based daycare and preschool in Wichita, Kansas. We aim to provide the best care possible with the most qualified leadership and teachers.
We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Daycare Assistant Director to help manage the day-to-day operations of our largest Angel Wings location. The perfect candidate will display a love for children and strive to create a supportive and positive environment for both children and teachers each day.
Daily Responsibilities:
1. Know and be aware of KDHE policies and help to oversee that staff are aware of the policies as well.
2. Be willing to quickly learn Angel Wings Learning Center Operating Procedures, Personnel Policies, and Parent Handbook. Ensures that the organization is in compliance with operating standards and procedures.
3. Be willing to learn and follow AWLC Mission Statement, Vision, Core Values, and Goals of organization.
4. Know and be aware or be willing to learn of laws and regulations governing the child care industry, including, but not limited to -- Abuse & Neglect, Kansas Department of Public Safety, Kansas Department of Transportation, Kansas Workforce Commission, and U.S. Department of Labor. Ensures that the organization is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Implementation and supervision of adequate and efficient scientific-based curriculum and lesson plans to match the needs of the populations and ages served from infants through twelve years of age.
6. Supervises all staff members to ensure the safety and supervision of children, implementation of curriculum, efficiency in the delivery of services.
7. Demonstrates the physical, emotional, and intellectual competencies necessary for self-control and good judgment when performing assigned responsibilities and delegating said responsibilities.
8. Interacts frequently with staff, children, and parents to foster communication and establish good working relationships.
9. Efficiently allocates resources to ensure that budgetary goals are met and in compliance. This may include, but not be limited to staffing, staffing patterns, staffing ratios, center resources, center materials, transportation costs, etc.
10. Develops and maintains processes and systems for all functional levels of services and programs. Establishes written documentation to support said processes.
13. Ensures that all documentation is in compliance with all standards.
14. Meets one of the following training requirements to be a director for >24
Option 1:
(A) Twelve Semester hours of academic study or equivalent training in child development
(B) Six months' teaching experience in licensed centers or preschools
Option 2: A child development associate credential and one year of teaching experience in licensed centers/preschools
Option 3:
(A) An associate of arts degree or a two-year certificate in child development
(B) One year of teaching experience in licensed centers/preschools
Option 4:
(A) An A.B. or B.s. degree in child development or early childhood education
(B) three months' teaching experience in licensed centers or preschools
Option 5:
(A) An A.B. or B.s. degree in a related academic discipline, and 12 hours of academic study in child development
(B) six months teaching experience in licensed centers/preschools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
