Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Latchkey teacher/ Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school and various educational activities. Also they will be supervising Latchkey students before and after school while being a float/assistant teacher between drop off and pickup times with an 1 hour lunch break. This position requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and the ability to engage positively with students.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus following designated routes and schedules.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to traffic regulations and company policies.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Maintain order and discipline among students while on the bus, utilizing effective classroom management skills.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Educate students about bus safety rules and procedures, fostering a respectful environment.
• Provide assistance to special education students as needed, demonstrating patience and understanding.

Qualifications

• Valid l driver's license with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport. L
• Experience working with children or students in an educational setting is preferred.
• Background in early childhood education, childcare, or tutoring is a plus.
• First aid certification is desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to manage classroom-like behavior on the bus effectively.
• Previous experience in babysitting or similar roles will be considered an ass.

Latchkey/Float/Assistant Teacher

Duties for Teacher

• Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging social skills and emotional growth.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement techniques.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Provide care for infants as needed, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive educational experience.

Skills

• Strong caregiving abilities with a focus on early childhood education.
• Experience in childcare settings or working with students in an educational capacity.
• Knowledge of behavior management strategies to support children's development.
• Familiarity with infant care practices is preferred.
• Ability to educate children through creative play and structured activities.
• Previous experience as a nanny or in similar roles is a plus.
