Patient Transporter

Job Summary
The Patient Transporter plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients within the healthcare facility. This position requires a compassionate individual who can provide excellent patient care while adhering to safety protocols. The Patient Transporter will work closely with medical staff to facilitate timely transport for patients, contributing to a positive healthcare experience.

Duties

• Safely transport patients to and from various departments within the hospital, including critical care units, radiology, and outpatient services.
• Assist patients with mobility needs, ensuring comfort and safety during transport.
• Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or concerns to nursing staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and areas.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures regarding patient care and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate transport schedules effectively.
• Provide basic life support as needed during transport, ensuring adherence to emergency protocols.

Experience

• Previous experience in critical care transport or home community care is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with patient care practices in a hospital setting is advantageous.
• Basic life support certification is required; additional certifications in advanced life support are a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are essential.
• A compassionate demeanor with a focus on providing high-quality patient care is crucial for success in this role.

Expected hours: 50 per week

• 10 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
