Job Description
The FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) Analyst position reports to the Vice President of Finance and will be responsible for the performance analysis regarding tracking of key metrics like revenue per passenger, onboarding spending, occupancy rates, and freight and logistics expenses (food, beverage, consumables). The role also will evaluate the financial performance of specific cruise itineraries and provide insights into cost control and revenue optimization. Additionally, the role will assist in the management and creation of the budget and forecast models in alignment with operations, freight and logistics, and human resources departments. The position will work closely with all departments to analyze and assist in the performance management of the fleet.
The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst position is Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
The KPIs for the FP&A Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
Track key financial metrics like revenue per passenger, onboard spending, and occupancy rates to assess the financial performance of specific cruise itineraries, ships, or regions and provide insights into cost control and revenue optimization.
Analyze management fees and onboard revenue sources (e.g., minimum billings, a la carte and beverage packages) to identify cost-saving opportunities in areas like provisions with purchase threshold rebates, identification of new vendor relationships, etc.
Provide financial analysis for strategic initiatives, such as bar/pkg programs, etc.
Conduct market and competitor analysis to support pricing and investment strategies.
Prepare reports for senior management and stakeholders and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Assist in financial audits and risk assessments.
Utilize financial modeling and data analytics to predict trends and improve decision-making.
Work with operations support teams to leverage cruise industry and internal data effectively to help optimize expense spend.
