Position: Quality Assurance Manager

Gorilla Mind is looking for an experienced and driven Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and elevating the integrity of our products and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The position combines critical responsibilities in both Quality Assurance (QA) and the ongoing sustainability of our quality management system.

As a key leader in the organization, you will oversee our QA/QC team, ensuring that all quality programs and systems align with regulatory standards and are effectively maintained. You’ll work proactively to foster a culture of continuous improvement and help safeguard the highest product standards, including the enforcement of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Systems (HACCP/HARPC).

This is a highly collaborative role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to driving consistent quality and performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the QA/QC department, ensuring that quality systems are organized, efficient, and compliant with industry regulations.
  • Maintain and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety (HACCP/HARPC) standards across all production processes.
  • Ensure consistent product quality, and facilitate compliance with customer safety and quality certification requirements.
  • Oversee the development and execution of quality assurance programs to promptly address customer feedback, particularly in relation to food safety and product quality.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues, optimizing processes for better outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance service quality and continuously improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Located in Boise, ID or willing to relocate, and able to work in-office. 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
  • At least five years of management experience in a regulated industry (preferably dietary supplements or food).
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in quality assurance practices, particularly within a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience implementing third-party quality certifications (e.g., NSF, ISO 9001, GFSI).
  • Certified Quality Auditor (preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in quality assurance methodologies and tools, with the ability to identify areas for service improvement.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for evaluating service quality and using metrics for data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven ability to develop training materials and coach teams on quality standards and performance improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively address issues and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset for continuous process optimization.

Training Requirements

  • Two-day HACCP training (or equivalent) from a recognized training center.
  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) training through a recognized center.
  • FSVP (Foreign Supplier Verification Program) training from an accredited training organization.
  • Knowledge of NSF/ANSI 173:2024 standards is a plus.

Location: Boise, ID

This is an in-office position, and candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Boise, ID area.


Compensation:

The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on experience. In addition to the base salary, we offer performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive compensation package.
