Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant and/or Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries, as well as maintaining a clean and organized environment in the clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and a desire to contribute to the well-being of pets.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding animals and preparing necessary instruments.
• Provide basic animal care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising pets.
• Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by ensuring all areas are sanitized and organized.
• Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any changes or concerns to the veterinarian.
• Handle laboratory samples and assist with diagnostic tests as needed.
• Support pet grooming services, including bathing and nail trimming.
• Ensure proper handling of animals in accordance with safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information and treatment plans.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a veterinary setting or animal care environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of animal physiology and handling techniques is essential.
• Skills including venipuncture, a technical knowledge of the use of laboratory and veterinary equipment is most beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and compassionately.
• Physical stamina to handle animals of various sizes and weights.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
