Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a desire to provide excellent service in a kennel environment.
Duties
- Assist in the daily care and well-being of animals in the kennel
- Provide food, water, and clean bedding for animals
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals
- Assist with bathing, grooming, and exercising animals
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Assist with animal restraint when necessary
Experience
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in animal care is preferred
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with handling dogs and other animals safely and compassionately
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when needed
- Basic understanding of dog training principles is beneficial
