Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing essential support in a kennel environment. This role involves caring for various animals, ensuring their safety, health, and comfort while maintaining a clean and organized facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, and exercising.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Administer medications as directed and assist with basic veterinary procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during handling.
- Understand and utilize veterinary terminology in communication with staff.
- Follow aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred but not required.
- Staying on task and team enthusiasm
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- A strong understanding of animal handling techniques is essential.
- Experience with general animal care practices will be considered an asset.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
