Animal Rescue Rhode Island (“ARRI”), a shelter in South Kingstown, RI, has been bringing families and best friends together for more than 85 years. At ARRI, no animal is ever euthanized because of time, space, breed, or humanely treatable condition. We’re committed to our work and believe in going to any length for the pets in our care.
We’re seeking a Development & Events Manager to play a critical role in helping us continue our mission to save pets' lives. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will organize special events, fundraising opportunities, corporate partnerships, and donor relations endeavors, helping to maximize philanthropic revenue and ensuring all donors have an exceptional experience with ARRI.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Supporting overall development initiatives
· Liaising with outside partners and donors
· Cultivating donor relationships and soliciting gifts
· Soliciting In-kind gifts
· Manage other fundraisers and/or raffles & auctions
· Managing our Bark on the Beach fundraiser, taking place September 2025
· Managing event volunteers; liaising with the volunteer program
· Organizing third-party fundraising events and endeavors
· Maintaining relationships with donors and shelter partners
· Assisting in gift processing, including pledges, stocks, and bequests
· Performing research and contributing to strategies for grants, individual, and corporate prospects
· Creating and organizing content for marketing materials and donor communications
· Participating in the planning of donor appeals and campaigns
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, Psychology, or Communications, or equivalent experience. 2-5 years in non-profit fundraising, donor development, marketing, and other relevant experience. Understands and adheres to Non-Profit Best Practices. Values and demonstrates donor and organization confidentiality.
· Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps, Fundraising CRM (experience with Bloomerang and Qgiv, or similar CRM database preferred), Constant Contact or Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop.
· Experience in online and virtual fundraising initiatives including social media giving
· Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills
· Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to write concise, logical, grammatically correct proposals to solicit gifts and prepare gift acknowledgements
· Self-motivated; able to work independently and take initiative for project-based work.
· Adept at problem solving; dependable, flexible, and punctual
· Manages competing demands; able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
· Can work in a fast-paced setting with ease; team oriented; able to meet target goals and deadlines

Pay: $57,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
