McLarty Associates is seeking a bright, resourceful, highly organized individual to serve as a full-time associate to support the firm’s Northern Latin America practice. We are seeking an individual to start as soon as possible. This an entry-level position based in Washington, D.C. and the associate will be expected to work in-person.
Essential duties and responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
- providing administrative support to the Northern Latin America practice director (coordinating and maintaining schedules, completing expense reports, event planning, making travel arrangements, etc.).
- conducting extensive research and analysis of economic, political, security, trade, technology, public policy, and business issues.
- writing memos, compiling biographies, and preparing presentations for the firm and clients.
- assisting with business development efforts by drafting corporate profiles and business proposals.
- monitoring regional news outlets.
- attending and reporting on speeches, panel discussions, and policy forums of interest to the firm and clients.
- assisting with intern hiring and supervision.
- other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates for this position possess an understanding of the economic, cultural, business, and political dynamics in Central America and the Andes. Applicants should have a robust background, demonstrated interest, and/or experience living or studying in Latin America. The associate must have complete fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
