QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The following is a list of qualifications for the position, any one of which may be waived by the Board in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Possess a valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate.
Possess work experience with early elementary children.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach district approved curriculum.
Develop lessons and instructional material to provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt to the curriculum needs of each pupil.
Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
Evaluate academic and social growth of students, keep appropriate records and prepare progress report.
Other duties as assigned.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Write reports, businesscorrespondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions in group settings.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and
deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear
and sometimes walk and sit. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally
push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books and AV/VCR carts. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
