POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Development and Engagement Officer and in accordance with the mission and purpose of the Ann Arbor YMCA, the Engagement Coordinator shall be responsible for assisting with fundraising, marketing efforts, and event coordination and planning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Marketing & Communication
- Assist Marketing Director with internal and external communications, including but not limited:
- Manage the internal calendar
- Distribute materials (physical and digital)
- Update digital TV communications
- Create Social media posts and graphics
- Assist with the content planning, research and calendaring for Marketing
- Assist with the online store management (photo production, editing, descriptions, uploading)
- Proofread and edit written materials for Marketing Director and any promotional or marketing materials
- Write copy for marketing materials
- Manage internal email to staff with upcoming events and pertinent information (in collaboration with all departments)
- Assist external vendors and contractors as needed (videography, photography, events)
- Create a branded PowerPoint for internal and external use
- Manage the Text Alert/Email System and Divi bars on website related to crisis management and promotional information.?
- Build and manage a non-member email list from a Smartsheet and put into a specific email list for non-member emails and alerts
- Create non-member email messaging
- Manage the inventory of promotional materials
- Send Monthly E-Blasts, collaborating with the Membership Department to keep email list current.
- Keep all marketing materials current in Member/Program areas: posters, flyers, etc
Development
- Lead production of events including being the “day of” coordinator. Including but not limited to:
- Gala/silent auction events
- Benefit Day
- Pride event
- AAPI events
- Fundraising events
- Maintain internal and external calendar of events
- Assist with the content planning, research and calendaring for fundraising
- Proofread and edit written materials for CDEO
- Write donor solicitations and stewardship letters or emails
- Identify and develop testimonials and Y stories from members, volunteers, donors and staff for use throughout our marketing/communication/fundraising efforts.??
- Communicate with donors as needed.
- Work with the CEO and CDEO to meet annual fundraising goals.
- Manage corporate sponsorships (gather logos and track incentives)
- Represent the YMCA in the community, attending tabling events where the Y is a sponsor or participant.
General Functions
- Support the mission, vision, and goals of the Ann Arbor YMCA; promote character development and the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Promote the value of diversity and the importance of being an inclusive organization to others inside and outside of the organization.
- Take advantage of opportunities for self-development and growth. Attend trainings and conferences.
- Special projects as assigned. This is not intended to be all-inclusive. It is understood that the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties if requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 2 years of college completed or equivalent experience required.
- A minimum of one to three years of YMCA experience or experience in a non-profit.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required. An ability to communicate and listen effectively as well as an aptitude for working harmoniously with a wide variety of people in a patient, professional manner.
- Must possess excellent customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to coordinate multiple responsibilities efficiently and can meet all deadlines.
- Must be able to learn and use YMCA specific software within 30 days of employment. Must be able to use basic Microsoft Office software.
- Experience in Adobe Suite and Canva
- The ability to speak more than one language is preferred.
Certification Requirements:
- YMCA Team Leader Certification or ability to obtain within 2 years.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
- Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
- Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
Salary : $20 - $22
