General Summary:
Responsible for maintenance of client systems [workstations (hardware, operating system and application software), printers, other peripherals, etc.], user access to network application software, and provides primary support for desktop system network functions. This individual works with Information Management Application Specialists and Technology Analysts for the support and deployment of clinical, academic, and business desktop information systems needs.
This position will likely be working 3rd shift: 11p-7:30a.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Troubleshoots user issues, specifically problems in using client operating systems, client and server applications and network connectivity.
2. Participate in project tasks as required.
3. Participates in the deployment of client hardware and software, as assigned.
4. Performs periodic preventative maintenance for user computer and peripheral equipment.
5. Assists in the update and maintenance of client computer asset inventory records.
6. Resolves unsafe conditions related to computer peripheral equipment and reports unresolved unsafe conditions to IM management.
7. Promptly notifies IM management regarding breaches of hospital or department policy regarding the use of hospital computing equipment (hardware and software).
8. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Associates Degree in Information Systems/Technology (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
2. 1-3 years experience in a corporate/enterprise desktop client environment with the following expertise:
4. Initiative and the ability to work independently, with a minimum of daily supervision, are critical for success in this position.
5. Certification/Licensure/Registration: Prefer Microsoft Certified Professional designation in Windows (client) and Office.

- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows client operating systems (Windows Workstation 2000/XP Professional, etc.) and Microsoft Office (XP/2003).
- Experience in working with systems and applications in a Microsoft Windows client/server environment.
- Experience in working with systems in a Citrix/Thin Client computing environment.
- In depth knowledge and experience with desktop deployment technology – Microsoft SMS, Altiris.
- Programming or scripting skills necessary to assist in client deployment technologies.
4. Initiative and the ability to work independently, with a minimum of daily supervision, are critical for success in this position.
5. Certification/Licensure/Registration: Prefer Microsoft Certified Professional designation in Windows (client) and Office.

Pay Range
$28.50-$46.60 Hourly
