Job Title: Tasting Room Associate, part-time
Hours per Week: 16-24
Location: Annabelle Acres Vineyard & Winery, Hart, Michigan
Position Overview:
The Tasting Room Associate is responsible for providing an exceptional experience to all guests visiting our winery. This role involves educating guests about our wines, conducting wine and coffee flights, serving food, and promoting sales. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wine, coffee, the customer experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet all visitors and provide a welcoming atmosphere in the tasting room.
Conduct wine and coffee flights, sharing knowledge about each selection, including its characteristics, production process, and pairing suggestions.
Assist guests with purchases, including packaging and processing transactions accurately.
Prepare and serve coffee beverages, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, including sanitizing flight trays, coffee equipment, washing glassware/plates, and sweeping floor.
Monitor and maintain the patio, gathering glassware and debris as necessary.
Restock wine, coffee, and merchandise as needed. Must be able to lift a case of wine.
Stay informed about winery and coffee events, promotions, and policies to effectively communicate with guests. Assist with special events, on occasion as needed.
Adhere to all safety, food handling, and alcohol service regulations.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail; experience in and/or knowledge of the wine or coffee industry is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work Saturdays, an occasional holiday (we will be open on the 4th of July), and an occasional evening event.
Basic math skills for handling transactions.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds (a case of wine).
Enthusiasm for wine, coffee, and a desire to learn more about both.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Michigan.
Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Sales experience, particularly in promoting memberships or subscription services (we may offer a wine club later).
Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage plus tips.
