ABOUT AMM:

The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM) is a significant community asset serving Anne Arundel County and beyond. Through programs, exhibits, and community events, AMM educates youth and adults about the Annapolis area’s rich maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay. Our mission, which profoundly impacts the community, is accomplished through an engaging suite of hands-on programming and by bringing visitors to our two campuses on Back Creek and aboard the Museum’s historic skipjack, Wilma Lee.

AMM is launching an outdoor-based, maritime-themed preschool program for children ages 3.5-5. This program utilizes AMM’s unique waterfront setting and new outdoor classroom to foster immersive, child-led learning experiences. The Early Childhood Program Director will develop and manage the program, including curriculum creation, staff oversight, and direct teaching. o Lead “caretaker and me” classes, summer camps, and preschool sessions.

o Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor learning environment in all seasons.

o Mentor and evaluate teaching staff, facilitating professional development opportunities.

o Build relationships with families, partners, and the community through events and open communication.

o Plan and implement family activities such as community service days and seasonal celebrations.

· Collaboration and Reporting:

o Work with senior staff on strategic planning, marketing, advocacy, and growth initiatives.

o Provide program data, write grant content, and support marketing efforts.
