What are the responsibilities and job description for the Programming and Outreach Coordinator position at Anne Arundel County Library?
Overall Position Purpose: This is varied professional work supporting programming, community engagement, and outreach to the public of all ages through project management, collaborative programming coordination, and internal and external customer service. This position includes supporting relationship development with targeted populations, community partners, and library staff; and working on system-wide projects and initiatives. Incumbent supports system level staff development, training, and other committee activities and projects. This person will carry out other duties as assigned within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree awarded with two years of experience working in a library and/or educational setting and extensive knowledge of technology used in education and programming for all ages. Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish is preferred.
Necessary Special Requirement:
- Completion of Library Associate Training Institute within two years of hire; and ability to maintain eligibility by completing 90 contact hours of training every 5 years.
- Valid driver’s license which is not suspended or revoked. AACPL will have your driving record reviewed as a requirement of our insurance carrier.
