JOB SUMMARY
Supports the Director of Community Schools in the planning, coordination, and implementation of community school projects and initiatives. While providing leadership in specific areas, the Manager works in alignment with the vision and direction established by the Director. The Manager assists with project oversight and contributes to the success of projects designed to improve outcomes for students, families, and communities. This position leads assigned initiatives, supervises staff, and responds to concerns while ensuring projects are implemented effectively and remain aligned with the strategic goals of the division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with the Director to interview, hire, and train school-based staff. Assists the Director in the development, implementation, and monitoring of all program-related assessments and reports. Ensure compliance of the community school strategy per state grant specifications, current legislation, and AACPS requirements. Supports schools in the management of various grant funds.
- Leads team members and schools in completing comprehensive needs assessments, implementation plans, and other required program documentation in collaboration with the Director. Helps schools identify goals and effective programming to support academic enrichment, 2 Generation supports, and physical and social/emotional/behavioral needs of students and families.
- Supports the development of long- and short-term plans to support the goals of the office and program under the guidance of the Director. Assists the Director in defining the scope and goals of community schools projects to ensure alignment with the division's mission. Ensures quality standards are met.
- Leads schools in developing strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including community organizations, healthcare providers, government agencies, institutions of higher education, business partners, and AACPS offices to maximize services to the school, students, and families.
- Collects, maintains, and analyzes data to inform the Director of the impact of community schools projects and outcomes. Prepares reports to support the Director in evaluating program outcomes and review of data inform continuous program improvement.
- Supervises and supports assigned staff in the execution of the Community Schools strategy as requested by the Director. Responds to operational concerns and supports resolution efforts, elevating concerns to the Director when necessary.
- Helps schools build relationships with and increase the school participation and voice of various stakeholders including students, parents, community partners and organizations, healthcare providers, institutions of higher education, government agencies, and volunteers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Experience
- Five (5) years professional experience in systemic organization thinking, organization leadership, and change management or in a related functional area required; and
- Three (3) years experience in a supervisory or management role required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Excellent project management skills and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proven organizational, analytical and planning skills.
- Experience working with budgets, following regulations and policies related to purchasing, contracting, creating MOUs, and creating budget reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with external community agencies and programs
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and engage diverse parents/guardians with varied communication styles, levels of skill, and experience to support their child's education experience and to advocate for their own needs.
- Knowledge of grants development, application process and grant funding requirements; especially as they relate to public education.
- Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, take initiative and use tact in dealing with community partners, government agencies, parents, students, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Knowledge of the public schools, including familiarity with State regulations and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
Language Requirements
- Bilingual/Biliterate native or near native preferred.

- Hold or be eligible for Educator Certification: Administrator I Certificate issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) preferred;

- Daily access to reliable transportation.
