The expectation is once accepting a summer position the staff is required to report to work for the entire summer session. Paid leave is not granted during the summer sessions and staff does not receive benefits of the regular school year (i.e. sick leave, business leave, vacation days, etc.)
Summer program staff must make a commitment to be present for the ENTIRE program including all in-service days, workdays, and student instructional days. Failure to make this commitment may impact future employment with the Summer programs.
JOB SUMMARY |

The Summer Programs Site Facilitator is responsible for overseeing the staff and effectiveness of the program at a summer site. Summer Program staff must commit to being present for the entire program including all in-service days, work days, and instructional days. |

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES |
||
• |
Supervises teachers, instructional assistants, and additional staff supporting the instruction of students and provides staff in-service to a positive, safe and orderly school climate. |
|
• |
Supervises and provides a safe and orderly environment for all learners. |
|
• |
Determine the logistics of the program: location of class and procedure for arrival, dismissal, breakfast, lunch and establishes class lists and schedules. |
|
• |
Complies with the vision for the program; monitors the effectiveness of the program through teacher lesson plans, parent feedback, and professional develop needs. |
|
• |
Establishes an effective working relationship with staff, students, and parents to ensure a positive school climate. |
|
• |
Develops a collaborative working relationship with the host site's staff. |
|
• |
Communicates effectively with parents about the program, student participation and academic progress. |
|
• |
Provides pertinent information about students to the instructional staff regarding students identified with health/medical/legal concerns and Individualized Education Program (IEP)/504. |
|
• |
Complies with AACPS policies/procedures and maintains communication with Central Office and follows due process in resolving student discipline issues. |
|
• |
Maintain and organize documentation required by the program and inventory, organize and distribute materials. |
|
• |
Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |

Education |
· Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.

Experience |
· One (1) year related Summer Program Staff, Site Director for Extended Day or Extended Week or Title I Summer Extended Learning Programs required.

· Understanding of Anne Arundel County initiatives in reading and math. Intermediate/Mid-Level · Demonstrates leadership skills. Licenses and Certifications |
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment. |
· Hold or be eligible for Educator Certification: Standard Professional Certificate I (SPC I) issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) required. · Hold or be eligible for Educator Certification: Administrator I Certificate issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) preferred.
