Fast-growing company looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant Analyst to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable processes, managing vendor relationships, and supporting property accounting functions. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP) Responsibilities:
- Invoice Management: Sort, scan, and accurately enter invoices into the AP system, ensuring proper coding to general ledger accounts.
- Vendor Management: Manage all vendor relations, including onboarding, communication, and issue resolution. Set up new vendors for payment processing, verify annual tax documentation, and issue Form 1099 as required. Maintain and update vendor records, including W-9 forms, payment terms, and contact information.
- Payment Processing: Verify, reconcile, and process vendor payments promptly and accurately. Verify, reconcile, and process vendor payments in a timely manner.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all transactions adhere to company policies and accounting standards.
Property Accounting Support:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Support the accounting team in generating reports and analyzing financial data as needed.
- Bank Reconciliations: Prepare and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date cash balances.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update general ledger accounts for multiple properties, ensuring correct transaction classification and compliance with accounting principles.
- Month-End Closing: Assist in month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, including monthly accruals and year-end adjustments.
- Audit Support: Assist with audits by compiling necessary documentation and reports.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate financial discrepancies, post accruals, and research missing invoices to maintain financial integrity.
- Accounts Receivable Management: Review and post receivables, conduct collection calls, and maintain internal tracking systems.
- Cash Monitoring: Continuously track cash balances and coordinate with properties for updated deposit information.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Support various reporting and analytical projects, leveraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Experience: 2 years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or property accounting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel. Experience with Resman software is a plus.
Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical skills and attention to accuracy.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
