JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Corporate Operations is responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational leadership of our cafe operations, ensuring alignment with company goals, enhancing operational performance, and delivering exceptional guest satisfaction. This role will lead a team of Territory Managers and will be instrumental in shaping the future of our brand as we continue to grow. The Director of Corporate Operations will work closely with the executive team to drive initiatives, set performance standards, and support operational excellence across all locations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term operational strategies aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with the executive team to shape the vision for growth, identify key business opportunities, and drive profitability.
- Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to cross-functional discussions and decision-making.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee all field operations across corporate-owned locations, ensuring a consistent guest experience, operational efficiency, and adherence to brand standards.
- Lead the performance management of Territory Managers, ensuring they provide hands-on leadership, guidance, and accountability to cafe General Managers and their teams.
- Set and enforce operational performance metrics, including labor costs, food costs, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
- Ensure that all cafes comply with health and safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
Team Leadership & Development
- Directly manage a team of Territory Managers, providing leadership, coaching, and career development to ensure a high-performing and engaged team.
- Develop and implement training programs to continually improve the operational capabilities of Territory Managers and their teams.
- Drive succession planning and leadership development to build a pipeline of talent for future growth.
Financial Accountability
- Work closely with the finance team to develop and manage operational budgets, P&L statements, and forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance across locations, identifying opportunities to increase revenue, control costs, and optimize profitability.
- Analyze operational data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Operational Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with the Culinary, Marketing, Human Resources and Franchise departments to introduce new initiatives, menu innovations, and promotional campaigns.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement technology, tools, and processes that streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, regularly soliciting feedback from Territory Managers and Cafe Operators to enhance the guest experience and operational effectiveness.
Brand and Culture Stewardship
- Act as a champion of Another Broken Egg Cafe's brand and values, ensuring that the culture of hospitality, teamwork, and service excellence is upheld across all locations.
- Maintain close communication with Territory Managers and their teams, ensuring they are aligned with corporate goals and motivated to achieve operational success.
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10 years of progressive leadership experience in multi-unit restaurant operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role overseeing field operations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proven ability to lead large teams, drive operational excellence, and deliver measurable financial results.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant P&L management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- A track record of implementing operational improvements, driving performance metrics, and ensuring brand consistency across multiple locations.
- Experience with both corporate and franchise models in the restaurant or hospitality industry is highly preferred.
- Ability to travel extensively to cafe locations as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work in varying environments, including fast-paced cafe setting with exposure to heat and noise.
- Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
