What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Analyst position at Anova Center for Education - Contra Costa?
The Behavior Analyst will work in an innovative, school-based program providing direct service and consultation to students with Autism and neuro-developmental challenges. Anova is a K through 12 Non-Public School with a close group of working professionals who enjoy collaborating in a multi-disciplinary approach. The Behavior Analyst provides behavior intervention to students for assessment and assistance with the goal of facilitating and promoting appropriate behavioral health and personal growth. The Behavior Analyst develops goals and objectives, overseeing the implementation by teachers and Behavior Assistants. -Conduct functional behavior assessments of behavior meeting CA requirements.
-Participate and/or facilitate IEP meetings, parent meetings, weekly clinical meetings with classroom staff and multi-disciplinary school team, and in-service trainings.
-May consult with student’s outside team members, such as in-home ABA, psychiatrists or district personnel.
-Ability to prepare and present reports and goals for IEP meetings.
-Collect, analyze and display data.
-Provide training to teachers and para-professionals in the implementation of positive behavior intervention plans.
-Flexibility with changing schedules and demands in a dynamic environment.
-Enjoy creative control over your work.
-Skilled in crisis management and willing to be certified in emergency behavior management approaches.
Required Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education or a related behavioral health field or valid CA special education teaching credential.
-Experience working with people with autism and related disabilities, as well as students with developmental delays and medical diagnoses.
-Ability to provide clear and complete documentation of work on a consistent and timely basis.
-Physical ability to work with students including physical or crisis management.
