Major Accountabilities
- Proactively manage key renewals - Obtain the listing of top accounts each month (coming up next 6 months) and review this with marketing, the producers & Director to address any foreseen / known issues
- Implement and validate Client Success Plans and Stewardship Plans
- Participate, mentor and coach in prospecting and renewal appointments with Producers
- Maintain agency management system (or CRM) Opportunities Pipeline (per established prospect guidelines) & Understand/Determine/Provide Guidance to assist the producer in moving the relationship forward for success
- Conduct (minimum) monthly one-on-one meetings with all Producers to review expectations of new business, renewal percentages, and net book growth
- Report on sales updates to direct supervisor- utilize technology resources to analyze and present sales and pipeline results
- Host monthly sales meetings and training sessions
- Work closely with Human Resources and Agency Trainers to develop and implement Producer development plans
- Utilize the Business Development Department as a resource to assist producers with prospect list generation
- Lead integration/implementation of any/all new business opportunities into the Commercial Lines department, including processes, staffing, technology updates, etc.
- Partner with the Risk Management Department on client and prospective client initiatives, leverage and promote the department’s resources among sales team members
- Provide agency sales focused efficiencies through process improvement efforts
- Develop, oversee and deliver training to the Commercial Lines Producers utilizing the New Producer Training Program
- Actively network inside/outside the industry for top talent pipelining
- Responsible for conducting Commercial Lines producer performance evaluations
- Set annual new business goals for the producer team and help the team achieve them
- Stay informed regarding insurance knowledge, market trends, agency automation, company information, and other operating techniques.
- Coordinate Regional sales meetings with carriers
- Work directly with mid-level carriers (5M and less overall premium)
- Coordinate carrier calls with new producers in the entire agency
- Attain market trends/updates to communicate with the region and/or agency
- Assist with onboarding new carriers
- Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of sales management experience is required
- Property & Casualty licenses required
- Advanced degree or insurance industry designation recommended
- Must have a positive "can-do" attitude, possess a passion for insurance, and be a self-starter who regularly demonstrates initiative
- Ability to manage a dynamic team in a growing company
- Embraces innovation, technology and is confident in change management skills
- Identify knowledge, skills, and abilities on the team and assess job duties accordingly
- Promote team development and accountability
- Must have the ability to identify and research problems, review materials for accuracy and to summarize policies for customers
- Other requirements include effective oral and written communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
