This role will report to the Vice President of Human Resources for SRP and may be located at one of our multiple plants in Southwestern Pennsylvania with local travel required.
The Senior Labor Relations Specialist will be a subject matter expert and consultant to management on human resources and labor relations-related issues, focusing on supporting and advancing the overall labor and employee relations strategy. A successful candidate will have to quickly learn the business; effectively communicate the organization's vision; be a thought leader and influencer who brings people together across functional areas to achieve results and build strong relationships. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience to enable an immediate transition.

- • Employee and labor relations issues (labor agreement administration, joint efforts, investigations, grievance resolution, disciplinary actions, terminations, etc.)
• Use business knowledge and labor relations expertise to develop and implement strategies to address challenges and capture opportunities
• Utilize HR data analytics to advise and counsel management on key strategic areas such as workforce planning
• Develop a key understanding of business/location challenges and opportunities
• Assist leaders in effectively communicating to the workforce, promoting employee engagement and information sharing
• Identify opportunities and lead process improvements, including partnering with Digital Technology to use automation to support simplification and process improvements
• Manage, interpret, consult, and resolve conflicts for all processes associated with the negotiated terms of the collective bargaining agreements within the business unit operations
• Provide training for operations leadership who oversee bargaining unit employees on how to uphold the negotiated terms of collective bargaining agreements
• Work with operations, payroll, disability management, safety, and other human resources functions to ensure the terms of the collective bargaining agreement are properly adhered to and executed
Basic Qualifications:
- • Bachelor's Degree
• Three years of experience in human resources, labor relations or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- • Master's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or a Juris Doctorate
• Skills include ability to interpret regulations, company policies and union contractual agreements;
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Windows-based computer applications with focus on Word and Excel;
• Excellent time management skills with demonstrated ability to handle a demanding workload;
• Excellent analytical skills;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
