Overview
This position is responsible for the construction and troubleshooting progressive die tooling and fixtures for welding, soldering and assembly working from specified design prints and verbal instructions utilizing all standard tool room equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and repair tools and fixtures according to specifications.
- Operate CNC machines and other machinery to produce high-quality components.
- Utilize SolidWorks for designing tooling and parts.
- Perform machining tasks using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct inspections of finished products using calipers and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to troubleshoot issues related to tooling.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Weld components as necessary for tool assembly or repair.
Skills
- Proficient in programming CNC machines for precise tool production.
- Strong understanding of tooling design principles and fabrication techniques.
- Experience with SolidWorks for creating detailed designs and models.
- Knowledge of machining processes including milling, turning, and grinding.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools such as drills, saws, and grinders.
- Mechanical knowledge with an aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Welding skills for assembling or repairing tools when needed.
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers for quality control.
