What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delegated Behind-The-Wheel Trainer/Driver position at Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency?
1. Assist the Safety and Training Manager in developing and maintaining up-to-date training programs.
2. Conduct training of potential bus drivers.
3. Keeps necessary training records and performs related clerical duties.
4. Perform behind-the-wheel training and arrange for training resources as necessary.
5. Assist in presentation of school pupil programs and bus evacuation drills.
6. Drive a school bus as needed.
7. Keep current on laws, regulations, codes, and policies relating to pupil transportation.
8. Ability to work with minimum supervision to obtain effective results.
9. Assist Safety and Training Manager in tracking CHP licensing and certification requirements of Agency drivers.
10. Train new bus driving personnel to meet all required bus driver requirements.
11. Complete accurate record requirements on each driver trainee and driver.
12. Provide recommendations related to ability for new employee to complete a driver training program and safety of the employee.
13. Provide specific feedback to Safety and Training Manager related to shortcomings in trainability.
14. Give classes including required T-01 classes.
15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
